After a long hiatus from the blog... I'm coming back again... but what am I gonna talk about... lol

First off, I would like to begin with saying Happy New Year and I hope everyone smashes their personal goals with this being the best year they've ever had. The current song in my headphones is Carefree by Mick Jenkins. The current location is Starbucks and the day is Sunday. Why is he disclosing so much information you may wonder? Just setting more of the tone of my approach in attempts to get you the reader to connect more. I've been thinking of ways and topics to talk about that aren't cliché. Then I said to myself just talk about stuff you like, after all this is your blog. So I guess I will begin with a few things thats been on my thoughts... cooking and music.

For the past few weeks I've been researching kitchen stuff. I came up with the conclusion that maybe it's OCD that compels my meticulous and extreme need to be organized while cooking. Then it dawned on me that my approach in the kitchen is the same as when I'm in the lab. I'm no Gordon Ramsey or Anthony Bordain (R.I.P.), but I've always thought cooking was a dope skill to have. Besides the fact that it resembles experiments in a lab, I guess that's why I like it so much. Think about it with having to know about measurements and reading recipes which are very similar to protocols. Even the tools are similar. I've decided to step more out of my comfort zone and cook more advance dishes, also planning on taking some baking courses. As the saying goes, "you can't be a man from New Orleans and not know how to cook". With that being said on today's menu I'm cooking turkey burgers with my twist on it and fries done in an air fryer. Nothing crazy advance today but that's to come later [Wink].

Now Music... I'm going to give this disclaimer that everyone's ear is genetically designed differently so the vibrations that hit the ear drum feel different to each individual. It's just science. That is why these top list are always different and we can never agree on it. I've probably mentioned this one million times to folks but I remember being in the barbershop hearing someone profess how Master P's Ice Cream Man had a better album then Jay's Reasonable Doubt. At the time, I thought he was crazy as hell but over time I've realized that people just like what they like. I've also came to the realization that it wasn't my job to convince folks to like what I like but just simply mention it or introduce it. If they like what you like cool if they don't... still cool. In fact, I'm not the biggest Prince fan. At first, I didn't even think that I liked Prince until I developed more of an open mind and gave his music a revisit. Ok now on to what I've been considering as dope artist: Freddie Gibbs, Westside Gunn, Mick Jenkins, Conway, Benny the Butcher, Willie The Kid, Eto, Elzhi, Termanology, Action Bronson and Skyzoo. These are my current "go to"s but breaking down the science on that as an avid music person it's hard to compile a list of the dopest emcees. I could give you a list of 1000 emcees that definitely doesn't change (no chronological order of dopest to least dopest)... for sure. Point that I hope you take from this and something I learned from the kids I taught is... have a open mind and don't fight yourself or be shy about what you like... It's your personal preference... Like what you like... and everything is subjective.
